just so everyone is aware of this, there is actually no need to activate your account via e-mail ... once you register your username you're all set and ready to post. thought to make this process very easy for everyone.
wow it's really cool to see a lot of you make it over here ... you guys rock! i'll have to admit though i wasn't too sure if this was going to work out ... but seeing how these first few hours is already doing so well it's looking promising just curious but how's the site speed doing for you guys? hopefully not too bad really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out ... it's going to be some work to get this setup in the way that you guys are used to but hoping it won't take too long to get most of the stuff up thx for joining and a big time welcome to all of ya!
great to hear thx @Timbo & @rStock you guys feel free to start up company threads in the main forums if you'd like ... i know this is going to take some time (weeks or even months) to really get this place feeling like home for you guys ... i remember when we made the big switch from the other place from old site to new site it took a pretty long time to get everything feeling like home again the only thing left that i need to do here is configuring the e-mail server ... that was one of the reasons why i disabled that on the new user sign-up ... once i've got that all up and running we should be good thx for all the help you guys rock!
If you build it they will come. Just a matter of time before the word gets out, you have a honorable reputation and Im glad you decided to fire this place up. Funny thing is your young enough to be my kid, but I've learned a lot from you, really like your style..
yeah that is a good point there @rStock i guess we'll need to submit the url of this site to the major search engines ... i'm not sure how long that takes until we see the site listed under a key phrase such as "stock market forums" ... but i imagine we'll probably not see many new people finding this site until that happens ... i'm going to also try using twitter as a source of promoting the link to this site and see if that does anything for us
nothing yet but i think if we can even get on a 3rd of 4th page of a google search stock forums will bring in some eyeballs i have noticed some of the search engine bots crawling the site as of late ... @tbw875 has been busy submitting the link to the searches! many thx tbw875!
The speed is good on my iPhone By the way seemed like the site was down late at night when I tried to log in for the last 2 days. I forgot the exact time that I tried to log in though, probably something like 1 or 2 am Eastern Time
hmm that's interesting was not aware of this ... i suspect this could be related to the nightly backups that i've set on the server but not 100% sure ... i'll look into it this week and see what's up thx for letting me know @stock1234! aside from those late night outages though there haven't been any other instances of the site going offline since the site launched last friday right?
Tried again at work today (nobody saw that...I swear I was working!). Still blocked by our vpn, but I was dumb and didn't get the details. Has anyone else seen the site blocked on work nets? The last forum was not blocked.
