Hot and humid here. Off allweekend, state enviormentalist inspected my septic system, It passed. WOO HOO ,hopefully it don't rain so I can cover up the field lines and finish up all the other stuff. Need to turn the backhoe back in, had it 2 months at a cost of $ 4,000 Not bad considering all I've done around here. Doing it all myself, well worth it but the old man is tired... The house project is moving right along, next step is having the concrete slab poured..
A collective sigh of disappointment in Seattle this week when two storms failed to dump any rain on us. Heading to San Francisco next week. Not particularly excited for the heat and sun. I hope my crappy hotel has AC. Good news is I'll have my very own bathroom! (Most do not!)
just had some pretty severe weather roll through here ... we needed the rain ... looks like it cools off a bit heading into next week ... we'll take it as we've had some pretty excessive heat & humidity the past few weeks!
had a low temperature of 59 degrees early this morning ... it was nice being able to crack the windows open and let the a/c take a bit of a break
Bla!.... i feel for ya! We lived in a rental house here in Texas for 5 years... EVERY summer the A/C went out at least twice.... until our final year there when it ultimately quit Landlords were good people, but they had a crappy home warranty.... we had 3 different service companies come out, but none of them could get authorization to fix it Summer in Texas is no joke!... people die!...... So i sent the wife and kids to stay with family while i toughed it out alone Sounds like a crappy story, but it ends well... Landlords felt so bad that they didn't even charge us rent that summer, which helped us save up for a down payment on our new house! Year and a half in the new house now.. we love it!.. and we owe it all to Texas summer
Blistering Heat Wave Threatens Seattle, Where Only a Third Have Air-Conditioning Well, crap. Top story on Drudge
Nice here in the big city of Pegram Tn. Cooled off abit and no rain, workin 14 hour days and don't have time to trade. Still holding my bags, LOL....
Most of Europe is baking at +40c ~ 104f here in the UK we have cool weather brisk westerly winds and showers. Friday we have a maximum temperature of 66f - I kid you not that is why anyone that can afford it flys off somewhere to get some warmth and sunshine. So jumper weather in the cool 10 mph westerlies ...
weekend looking pretty fine around here ... certainly hasn't been nearly as hot as it was a few weeks back ... mid 80s for this time of the year is kind of usually but you won't find me complaining about out
Gonna hover around 90 for about another week and a half. For the last week we've had a massive plume of smoke cover Seattle (from wildfires in BC) which blocked out some of the heat from the sun. Has been nicknamed "smokezilla." Unfortunately it is leaving, so I will be breaking into my brothers house tonight and stealing his AC unit (not even kidding--he told me to)
Slight bit of rain and nice n cool. Seeded my yard almost 2 weeks ago and it's finally turning green. Not bad weather for August.
Oh man, I am so happy I am borrowing my brother's AC unit. We're back in the low 80's but we arent used to that here. Smoke is supposed to let up a bit, but it will be a slow process. We're going on a week with smoke, and looking at a week more. This was Friday: But Hey, the Blue Angels are here, so that's cool.
august thus far has been off to a pretty wet start around here and that looks to continue for the foreseeable future ... although we do need the rain ... better not be cloudy or rainy out on august 21st though ... i'll explain why in another thread
Rained all day here, got to take off work and get my building and electric permits. Ready to dig footings and pour concrete.
Over a week now with constant smoke. I haven't seen Seattle from my office for days now. No sign of it letting up. I said screw it today and went for a run anyways. From the NYT: "To live in Seattle is to exist, perpetually, in the bargaining stage of grief." I for one, accept our new smoke overlords!
