oh and hey guys lookie what i just managed to get working here at the forums -- dynamic extended hours charting from finviz!

like if you use this url for your image:

PHP:

https://elite.finviz.com/chart.ashx?t=GOOGL&ty=c&ta=1&p=i3&s=l

and just change "GOOGL" in that url to the ticker of your choice, just copy and paste that URL as an image upload, you will literally get the dynamic chart from finviz for extended hours lol. i did not know that could actually work in here until just now! super awesome that it does.

and since like i said these are "dynamic" charts, you wouldn't need to actually re-upload that link as an image etc. a simple page refresh would do the trick and it would show the most recent after hours price action

 

i can do that because i have the finviz elite subscription which allows for linking the images into here

 

let's try amzn next to see how that's looking

 

so anytime you do a page refresh or enter this thread, etc. it updates automatically hence "dynamic charting"

 

which totally gives me an idea for the front page here perhaps lol. like maybe we can have the after hours charts for those big ERs on the front page or something? that'd be something

 

so something like this maybe? but would only be temporary for a few hours until the a/h session has ended cause that looks too big and kinda cluttered for the new guy out there looking in

oh hey btw, while i still have you here @stock1234 i was just wondering if you were still having any issues getting on this site from your main computer? i think you were saying late last week that you were having some issues (was it friday?) hope that is all corrected now! now sure why that was happening honestly. but super glad that it's working for you again now (that is if you've accessing the site from you main machine?).

 

Oh hey fellas, check this out! I was just playing around with the bb tags in the admin panel this evening, and I just made it so that when you do something like this in a post:

PHP:

[chart]TICKERSYMBOL[/chart]

It would literally pull up for you guys the daily chart of the "TICKERSYMBOL" of your choice from finviz!

 

^ could someone just quickly confirm for me that is working for y'all's? would be greatly appreciated

gonna work on some other timeframes for charts using bb tags as well!

 

Here's the one for intraday (like the one's I posted earlier this afternoon for AMZN and GOOGL:

[intraday]TICKERSYMBOL[/intraday]

 

and here's are the one's for the weekly and monthly charts

[weekly]ticker[/weekly]
[monthly]ticker[/monthly]

 

oh and one last one for stock charting. the finviz elite subscription comes with a special chart that has additional technical indicators and such. you guys can pull that in the forum here using this tag:

let me know if you guys think we should have futures charting tags as well and i can go head and add those in as well
