    Anyone playing everybody's favorite AMD earnings today? I'll be watching from the sidelines, but chatter is that last earnings was a miss to set up this one.

    Not playing anything at the moment... mail man just picked up my TDA application for tier 2 options trading:cool:........ few more days before i can play again

    Been paper trading to get my fix, but its just not the same

    just closed some paper calls on AMGN today for 14% gain.... health care had a nice run, but i think its coming to an end pending this big vote in Washington

    You were right!... thats the way to play!.... im up about $300 on paper trades

    wow almost printed sub 9's earlier this morning :eek:

    every time we make a fresh new low i begin to wonder if that'll be the low for the cycle ... maybe 9.04 is finally it ... but honestly wouldn't be surprised if we see the 8-handle print soon ... worth noting that 8.89 is the absolute ATL in the vix from 1993 maybe we see that in a blow off move in the markets to mark some meaningful high before we begin to correct o_O

    I actually just took a few days off work to do some serious fishing!...... So i havnt had a close eye on the market, and just got the word about the new site

    I know lol. I agree, wouldn't surprised me that the VIX hit the new ATL before the market topping out and begin to correct ;)

    Ditto that, some mighty big bets on October timeframe. At some point profits are gonna be taken and it's going to cause a chain reaction causing a sizeable correction. That will be a buying opportunity for the next leg up.

    i was scared myself, i was in it for the big drop to 10, ive been in and out of it all year, definitely my biggest winner of the year by far.

    Start by clearing your head, cause theres a lot to cram in there!

    Honestly, im not crystal clear on everything about options yet, but i get the gist of it..... i learn pretty much everything via YouTube, cause i can prop my phone up on the dash and listen through blue tooth, hands free (truck driver)

    Once you get what options are and how to trade em, i found out you have to fill out an application through your broker..... which is where im at now

    Level 1 should be all you need for now, ability to open/close calls and puts.

    Hmm... i applied for tier 2 with margin

    I dont have enough in my account to use margin yet, but they said when i get there it will automatically kick in

    For now the idea is just buying calls and puts, so i can play both sides without needing margin to go short

    But eventually, id like the ability to hold shares and write contracts against them
