I know we had threads going for individual pro sports at the other place, but since we're not a very large community yet I figured to just do an all-in-one sports thread on here for now. I'm really looking forward for the start of the NFL pre-season soon!
Nice start to the season for my Carolina Panthers taking care of business down there in San Fran! Now we look ahead to the home opener this Sunday against Buffalo!
Panthers took care of business at home against the Bills in a defensive battle ... wow was that game boring to watch! Next up with got the Saints on Sunday here at home. Not really sure what to expect here but hoping we can make it 3-0 before heading off to NE to face the Pats the following week. Let's Go Panthers!!!
Good luck Good chance for the Panthers to go 3-0 at home I think, the Saints not looking good defensively
How bout Denver shutting up all the Cowboy fans I grew up near Dallas in a Cowboy hating family, life was rough! Later lived in Denver 8 years before moving back home... consider them my home away from home team
^^ Haha. That was really tough to watch yesterday. It brought back memories of last year's Panthers... I sure hope Greg Olsen is not out for too long, he has been seriously missed. The scheduled doesn't get any easier from here. We've got the Pats next Sunday in NE. (Ouch!) Then @ Detroit the following week.
Just seeing this now! Yeah, that was definitely one of the more memorable Panthers regular season victories I can remember in a while. Beating the Super Bowl champs on their home turf was pretty damn sweet. Meanwhile, the MLB post-season has just gotten underway. Anyone got any predictions who might come out on top this this Fall Classic? Not sure we'll be able to top last season's fall classic though after the Cubs finally broke their 100+ year WS title drought! That was an awesome WS.
Gonna be a tall order to top the World Series from last year I would definitely want to see another Game 7 in the World Series though. I will root for the Indians in the AL and I don't mind to see the Astros going to the World Series too, not sure about the NL, probably will root for whoever wins the wild card game today
I believe the Indians are the current longest WS championship drought MLB team now correct? I think I'm with you on rooting for the Tribe this post season as well. The Yankees have won too many! Let's have a team that hasn't won one in 70 years I think right? Should be a fun series!
Haha yeah since no franchise in Hawaii and I don't really have a favorite team, I tend to root for the smaller market teams rather than the big spending teams like the Red Sox, the Yankees, and the Dodgers, etc Like you said the Indians haven't won in like almost 70 years, definitely would be a nice story if they end the drought this year I would like to see the Astros and the Indians advancing, so it is a good start today so far
Hmm, so the Yankees with the early 6-3 lead in Game 2 here. Let's see if the Tribe can rally back. That would be pretty huge if the Yanks come away with the split in Cleveland. Home field advantage then goes to the NYY. Let's Go Tribe!
