@bigbear0083 with the vix this low....should we expect flat markets more often? Still learning the vix's
gosh i hope not more flat days @tbw875 ... honestly, i don't know if the vix is quite as meaningful as it once was when i first started trading ... still it is quite startling to see such an incredibly low reading when we have hot spots around the world which can easily flare up at any given time ... posted this chart on the vix thread but figure to cross-post it in here as well ... perhaps we are getting ready for some kind of bounce off of this weekly support TL soon?
Read a lot about that subject. Has the VIX become obsolete?? No, but considering we are in unchartered territory it don't seem to be as widely reliable as it once was.
yeah looks to me like gold's move here is largely related to dollar weakness here is a comparison chart i whipped up showing you gold vs. the dollar over the past year ... almost 100% inverse interestingly gold is not really anywhere near its recent highs while the dollar is making fresh lows ... gold not nearly as strong on this bounce higher
As somewhat of an experiment, a few weeks ago i restructured all my watchlists around the SPDR ETF's..... Feels like it gives me a better birds eye on the market All the lists are in order of RSI, the main list is the main sectors, and i have "sub-lists" of the top holdings in each..... Im also trying to keep track of the top sectors via 3 month % charts, with SPX overlay If its helpful for y'all, ill post em up here occasionally Winner/ Loser right now Tech (XLK) almost has Healthcare (XLV) edged out on the 3 month chart (XLV 6 1/2% and dropping) And no surprise, Energy (XLE) still at the bottom... but maybe not for long, crude is flirting with $50 again ($47 somthin last i checked) Honorable mention: Looking in real estate for a long... and id be bold enough to find a short in healthcare
Also kinda surprised by the Industrials... i had it pegged for a leader... but it had a rough week dispite the moves by CAT and BA

Well, Bezos is the richest man in the world now. Or is he? That NASDAQ selloff seemed to be fully backed by AMZN. Large red candles abound.
I saw that today and laughed The richest people in the world are nowhere to be found on Forbes..... because no one even knows how much wealth they have
