The majority of my trades are contrarion plays or news related. Normally I will load up on a few calls with different strikes and timeframes, try to get close to ITM with the first tier and stretch the others out a bit.The goal being to recoup my original investment as quickly as possible. Some of my trades are intended to aquire shares, I try to keep the profit in shares, again the goal is to recoup my original investment as quickly as possible. I have about 2 dozen tickers that I play on a regular basis and have built up a fairly decent amount of what I call 'freebies" most pay dividends. Since I don't really have anything invested in them other than "unrealized market value" I don't usually sell them, but instead write calls on the ones I have enough built up. I play options on SPY, FAS,FAZ,TVIX,NUGT fairly often as well. I learned quickly that I'm a lousy investor, just don't have the stomach to watch my money bounce around like a basketball. I will start posting my trades as I make them and if anyone wants to chime in I look forward to hearing from you. I pulled most of my funds out to buy land and build a house so I'm working with a WHOLE lot less than I had before, which makes it a more challenging process. I can only do 3 daytrades in 5 days now so I sometimes do a swingtrade. I will start from scratch since my stocks and calls that I'm holding were before I started this thread.
Trade # 1 7-20-Thursday This one turned on me and may be a loser. RAD 2,530 shares at 2.6299 = $6658.60 7-24 - Monday Closed trade. RAD 2530 shares at 2.446 = $ 6183.18 Took a loss of $475.42 on this one, ehh just part of the game..
Trade # 3 7-24 - Monday KIRK 605 shares at 9.4471 = $ 5720.45 7-25 - Tuesday KIRK 600 shares at 9.80 = $ 5878.05. Profit of $ 154.60 plus kept 5 shares for the free pile.
Trade # 4 7-25- Tuesday FRO 992 shares at $ 5.8558. $ 5813.90 7-26 - Wednesday To funny, holding this one for awhile longer, current PPS $5.72
All but quit trading stocks for now, have a little cash waiting for the next play and have a steady stream of dividends coming in, all from my past trades. Been experimenting with cryptocurrency and plan to focus on that for awhile, can trade those 24/7 which works great for me.
Lol.. UAL, HTZ and DLTH sure helped out the process. Havent traded in weeks. Flipped the crypto a few times but from here on out those are buy n hold. Plan to load up more on pullbacks, right now they are on a rip.
