Morning fellas! Looks like we're getting a bit of a bounce back this morning. Cash S&P never made it to a -3% pullback (as of yet anyway) which means we're still w/o one in about 9 months. That's currently the 2nd longest in market history. Only 1995 did longer (12 months).
Seems like this market just can't gain much momentum to the downside, we can't even get a 3% pullback
My thesis was just plain wrong today. I tried to short every level and failed. I just can't get past the big volume bars and the big red candles on the daily chart. Possibly we just need the next catalyst to send it back down.
I am a bit depressed today cuz my thesis was wrong today, but I did make a few bucks. LOL what a game we play!
Market pulling back today, I think they are blaming the drop today on the speech from Trump last night
It's kind of startling (to me anyways) to see how well the markets have been holding up here and how calms things have been, despite some shenanigans (to put it mildly ) out there. It's like pulling teeth to get this market markedly lower. These -0.25% days here and there are pretty insignificant in the big picture. I believe it was @Baggi who said that chopping around these levels won't get us much lower ... we'd need to see a huge selloff to really get some momentum going on the downside. We haven't seen that as of yet ... and we're still w/o a -3% pullback on the SPX! Looks like we may just be put on hold until around Ocotber-ish? Unless some really crazy black swan event were to hit before then. I hope we're not in for too much more chop. I'd like to see some direction then continuation of said direction.
Seems like grocery stocks getting hit after Amazon announcing that they will offer discounts at Whole Foods.
My prediction for this week is looking in doubt. Unless Friday brings us a Hurricane sell off (Due to all the drama from news media hyping it), I think I may end my streak at 6.
Good morning guys. Happy Friday! I'm running a little late this morning. Is Yellen expected to speak this morning?
Yeah she spoke but I think she said nothing on the potential future rate hikes. Mario Draghi of ECB will speak at around 3 PM I think
